Who is building it
Coventry Development Corporation is the master developer and Shea Homes the master homebuilder, working with Infinity Properties, Lokal Homes and Thrive Home Builders. Homes range from condos and townhomes to single-family houses. Your purchase papers say which builder’s warranty covers your house.
Installation problems: the builder first
- A water supply line kinked behind the unit, or a slow, weak supply from the start.
- A unit that is not level, so the doors drift open or will not swing shut.
- A custom panel set slightly off, rubbing a neighbor or pinching the gasket.
- An anti-tip bracket missing or loose; an outlet or circuit problem, which is an electrician’s.
Workmanship like this is what a builder’s warranty is for. Report it in writing, with photos.
Refrigerator problems: Sub-Zero first
- A section that will not hold temperature.
- A fan that rattles or squeals, or a display that goes dark.
- Frost building inside, or a gasket torn out of the box.
Within 2 years of installation, a defect like these is repaired by Sub-Zero’s own service, parts and labor included. What the warranty covers.
When to call us
When both have said no, when the full term has passed, or when nobody can say which list a problem belongs on. The $89 diagnosis answers that question, and if the fault turns out to be covered, we say so instead of repairing it.

Should I register the refrigerator even though the builder bought it?
Yes, or at least record its details. Sub-Zero asks for the model, serial, installation date and the selling dealer for any warranty claim, and the use and care guide has a page for exactly that. Ask your builder for the installation date now, while the closing paperwork is easy to find.
Can I pull the unit out myself for new flooring?
We would not. Sub-Zero’s warranty excludes defects caused by improper installation, and a built-in is secured, plumbed and leveled to its opening. If flooring or cabinet work means it has to come out, have whoever installed it move it and set it back.
